Courage

One fine Sunday afternoon, my church team (Kuala Lumpur Korean Church) had a match with the bigger kids in the Open Church. This happened when I was 8 years old and the Open Church kids were 10-11 years old. I was really scared because what if the big kids kick the ball at my face and have a nose blood or what if they bang on me.

Then the scary match had started. Kuala Lumpur Korean Church VS Open Church. When the whistle blew the big kids just bang on us and took a shoot. It was a goal. I couldn’t believe it. They were like the fastest guys I had ever seen. When we were playing we could even pass the half line towards the Open Church. The goalkeeper in the Open church came up and scored a goal. It was so amazing. Also, if they took a shot, it just when in the goal. I was so angry that we were losing 10-0.

When the full time whistle blew, we lost 16-0. I was so shamed about myself, friends, and my church. That night I decided to not get afraid of the big kids. It will be kind of hard but I am going to try my best. Then the next day a school, I played soccer with the 4th graders, who were 3 years older than me. I wasn’t scared of them. I just push them and I scored a goal but 2nd graders lost by 2-1. Even though we lost I wasn’t scared of the big guys.

So from that day I started not being afraid of the big guy. No matter how old they are, I am not going to be afraid of them. Never ever after. And now I am a great soccer player.
